As we all know. A hanging phone can be very annoying. Now, before you crash your phone out of frustration, there are some few simple things you can do. First we need to look at what causes a phone to hang.
1. Virus
Viruses have a tendency of duplicating files and automatically running programs. By so doing, they lower the RAM and ROM of your device causing it to hang.
Solution
Try installing an antivirus like Eset or kaspersky. They are available on playstore plus they are free. Scan your phone and eliminate the threats.
2. Low memory
Too much of large files and installed application can cause your phone to hang. Your internal storage should have at least 500mbs of free memory. While the ram should be at least 50% free of use.
Solution
You can try to increase your memory by using an external storage. Another way is to uninstall some apps and to delete some files. Videos and video games demand a lot of space so you can start with those ones. Before deleting your files, you can backup them online using google drive just to keep them safe.
3. Low power
This is not common but in some brands like huawei, low power can cause hanging.
Solution
Recharge your phone
4. Hacking
There are many things that a hacker can do with your device and hanging can be one of the results of hacking activities.
Solutions
Hackers mostly use a network to get to your phone. They can also do it by inserting bugs into phone via files you download or receive through file sharing apps like xender. It can also be done manually where they will insert or install tracking programs in your phone.
First make sure you delete all unknown files in your phone. Uninstall unknown apps too. You can then reset all passwords and patterns and replace them with stronger ones. Secure your internet connections with strong passwords and anti-phishing apps.
5. System updates
Updates should not slow down your phone but in some cases they do. If they new updates are not compatible with your phone, They will slow it down.
Solution
In such a case, the only solution is to uninstall the updates. Optimizer apps can help but they rarely solve the problem.
Reboot the phone
If a phone remains active for too long, its code can gather some errors. It could also be running some programs in the background which could be demanding a large amount of your memory. Your phone cannot solve some issues automatically and the only solution is to restart it.
Still hanging? Flush your phone!
This should be your last option. First backup your files. You can either use google drive or move them to another device. Now you can factory reset to format sd card. This is the most effective way of eliminating all viruses.
