Any business product can be marketed digitally, whether its a piece of art, a book, a snack, or a drink. One reason you might want to choose the internet as a way of advertising your product is to get more clients or simply to change your way of doing business.
When you get into the digital market, you will realize that there are many other people advertising through facebook pages, blogs and other sites. Probably they are marketing similar products as you or different ones. That means you will have to come up with your own ways or a better way to market your products.

a) Create an audience
First you will need to be sure the item you post or upload will be seen by a good number of people. These people should be people who can easily access your products or ones you can easily deliver to. The audience can be your whatsapp contacts, facebook friends or instagram followers. b) Have a target market
A target market sometimes known as a niche is that segment of the market that you intend to sell your products to. It can be a group of people with similar interests or in a certain location. For example if you are selling snacks or fast foods, you might want to sell them to students, late night workers or people who will rarely get the time to cook their own meals. This means, if you will be posting your products to your audience, you will be posting them to that part of the audience with such interest.
c) Choose a perfect time to promote
One thing you will need to avoid is advertising your product the wrong time of the day, week or month. There is that time when your target market is likely to be online. These are moments when they are free, idle, having lunch or in the bus heading home. Probably it will be in the morning before 8am, midday between 12 and 2pm or evening 5pm-7pm.
d) Use a reliabe method of advertising
This is the method you will be using to engage with your audience as you promote your products. It can be email, chat, post, popups, banners or native ads. Make sure the method you choose is friendly and most familiar to your target market. For example, if you are targeting teenagers, lets say you are selling headphones, you will want to use chat, if you are targeting millenials under white color jobs, emails might do.
e) Share your contacts
The people you engage with will need a way to reach you, your products or to make enquiries. Make sure your contacts e.g email, phone number and address are always available and visible in all your advertisements.
You can go ahead and make sure your clients have a way to follow and get your products anytime anywhere. It can be through an online shop on JiJi, Jumia if you are in kenya or Amazon, Ebay, Aliexpress if you are in another country. It can aslo be your own page, blog or store.
With that much it will be possible to market your product online. You might not make much the firts week or even the first few months but if you do it well, with time you will be selling quite a good number of items.
